Peg Perego has recalled 3,000 children’s riding toy vehicles due to a fire and burn hazard. The ride-on bikes are intended to be used by children ages 5 to 7 years old. As stated in the recall, “a relay on the circuit board can fail causing the vehicle’s motor to overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards.” The toys were sold online at Amazon.com, Cabelas.com, Target.com, ToysRUs.com and Wal-Mart.com from October 2014 through May 2015. There have been three reports of vehicles overheating, including one report of a burn.
