IT has been announced that the government is taking legal measures to stop the sale of Buckyballs. Buckyballs are high-powered desktop toys for adults. They have been reported to have injured several children after being ingested. The CPSC has filed an administrative complaint against the manufacturer of Buckyballs, Maxfield & Oberton. The small magnets in the Buckyballs are strong enough to mold and shape in different forms and structures on desks. The company has refused to recall the product even though it has been reported that 12 children from toddlers to teens have swallowed the magnets since 2009, some requiring surgery to remove them.
