3 Killed in Small Plane Crash Near Sedona Airport
A small plane crashed just outside the Sedona Airport, killing 3 people. The plane is registered to a Patrick Porter of New Mexico, a former Olympian. The Federal Aviation Administration reports that the plane was departing from the airport when it ran off the south end of the runway and down a tree-covered sloping hill. A man and 2 children have been killed in the crash; there was no one else on board. Airport officials say the pilot did try to brake before crashing into an airport gate.
