Hyoscyamine Sulfate Recalled for Superpotent & Subpotent Results
Virtus Pharmaceuticals has issued a voluntary recall on seven batches of its Hyoscyamine sulfate (0.125mg) medication, which include the tablet, sublingual, and orally disintegrating tablet form.  This medication is used to treat diseases like asthma, incontinence, stomach cramps, peptic ulcers, intestinal spasm and other bowel disturbances. The seven batches in question may be either too strong or not strong enough. Those patients who took the super strong version developed hallucinations, stroke-like symptoms, confusion, dizziness, blurred vision, dry mouth, slurred speech, imbalance, and disorientation. These symptoms were reported to be temporary.
Consumers should stop using the medication and return it to the place of purchase for a replacement prescription.
